ARRIS Product Families
Product Family & Design Language

After several successful product development efforts with ARRIS, Whipsaw was awarded two generations of the company's leading SURFboard gateway products. This case study represents the second of those engagements, focused on creating a distinctive and scalable design language for the evolving product family.

Working within evolving technology, cost-sensitive DFM, thermal requirements, and shared product architectures, the challenge was to balance technical complexity with a clear physical identity.

I led the design effort across the program, guiding the team from architectural exploration and form development through design language, appearance development, and production implementation.

The result was a scalable product language that allowed ARRIS to build a recognizable family of connectivity products without sacrificing the practical realities of manufacturing.
